We just got done with Spring Break. We couldn't go any where because Chelsea had to complete her driving time with the instructor. She was tested and she passed. She is excited, on her birthday she can get her license. That will make two teenage drivers. Anybody have ideas on how to handle the upcoming conflicts with that?

We spent one day visiting with Bill, Glenda and McKayla. We chatted about this and that. Bill has been finding really good deals on things to remodel the Emery house with. He is trying to make it liveable. I told him a four wheeler trail needs to be built across the street. They made us dinner and with Mckayla's birthday coming up on the 13th of April we sang happy birthday to her and had cake and ice cream. We didn't get to see Jana. Bill tried to call her but she didn't answer her phone. That is too bad. I really wanted to see her. It has been a while. It sounds like she has a few boyfriends so I am sure she is busy.

Lindsey ask a guy to Sadies. I am amazed at how many girls choices there are. I am so old fashioned, I like it when the guy does the smoozing. Anyway, he said "yes". It's seems like we just got done with Prom now we are coming up on Sadies.

Brianna got a 4.0 last cemester. She is on the honor roll and received a high achievement award. She almost got a 4.0 last report card but one teacher gave her an A- so she is thrilled she made it this time. We are very proud of her accomplishment.

Candice is bursting at the seams waiting for her birthday on Friday. She is turning 9. She is growing up too fast for me. Her and I shared lunch at the birthday table yesterday. She is also excited about her upcoming dance performance but doesn't like the fact that her dress rehearsal is on her birthday. I was relieved when she opted for a bigger present and no party. We have had too many gatherings here lately. I welcome the break.

Mark went on his fishing trip down the Green River. He had a lot of fun and I was relieved he came home with all of his equipment. (Last year he lost his $300 rod and reel in the river). The fishing was good. It did get cold but that doesn't stop him.

Whew! Too much to do!

I got a new calling today. I am a Beehive Advisor. I'm not quite sure what I do-I guess I advise. LOL. I'm excited. I haven't worked in the Young Women program before so this will be fun. Brianna is a Beehive, she is 2nd counselor in the presidency, it will be fun working with her. Candice is sad, though, because I was released as her Activity Day leader.

Recovery from my surgery is coming along. My six weeks is up tomorrow, I see the doctor on Tuesday and hopefully I will get the clear to return back to normal. I don't quite feel all normal, I still get a few pains here and there but it is getting better every week. Wahoo.

We are enjoying the holiday season. The girls had fun in the snow today. Mark is dreading his drive in it this week. Maybe that's why I hate the snow, well, that and I always froze in it growing up. I need to find something fun about it. I tried thinking positive like, "I don't have to do yard work" but then scraping snow off the driveway isn't much better. Hmmph.

Today Lindsey played her flute in our stake Christmas Fireside. She was with another flute, a french horn, oboe and clarinet. She did a good job. It was a very nice presentation.

My goal this week is to get my Christmas cards out. Although, GayLee likes it when I send them after Christmas because then it makes it okay for her too. Hey, it is better late than never, right?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It is pretty busy here. We are trying to get ready for Christmas. The girls have so many things going. Lindsey has a Christmas dance on Saturday. I can't believe the events. They are doing a day activity, a dinner and the dance. It is girls choice and a formal so she is really forking out the bucks. She has started working at Albertsons so she has a small income. She has only worked since Thanksgiving so this will certainly saturate her cash. Chelsea has kept busy as president of the Mia Maids and school activities. Brianna and Candice are in the Off Broadway Christmas play this year so we have had to run them to practices. They start performing on Dec. 19th. If you want to see it you can get in at the Friends and Family rate of $6. Just mention you are with the Burgess girls and they will give you the discount. They perform Dec. 19th @ 7:30, the 20th @ 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm, the 22nd, 26th and 27th @ 7:30 pm. It looks like a fun play and you need to reserve early to get good seats. So we are keeping busy, 'tis the season!
